Na Hoku Hanohano Award Winning Contemporary Music Duo Ben Vegas and Maila Gibson have been performing together, in and out of Hawaii, for nearly 20 years.

They are multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Award winners. Their first album as a duo, “Forevermore,” received the award for Contemporary Album of the Year. Their second album, “All About Love,” was released in November 2015. Like their first album, it consists of contemporary love songs, but with a little more of a contemporary Hawaiian sound, featuring several songs in the Hawaiian language.

Together, they are celebrated as one of Hawaii’s top contemporary music duo’s. Separately, they have their own musical accomplishments.

Ben Vegas has performed among many world-renowned artists like Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Chaka Khan and many others. Locally, Ben has played with numerous Hawaii artists either as a guitar player, vocalist, songwriter, and producer. Some of the artists include Keali’i Reichel, Na Leo Pilimehana, Theresa Bright, Keahiwai, and Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom. In Hawaii, he is best known for number one hits like “Puanani,” and “Maile Lei.” He was a member of island contemporary bands the Krush and 5:05 with whom Ben garnered three #1 hits.

Maila Gibson has performed with artists like Jim Brickman, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, and Natalie Cole. Maila’s highly anticipated 2003 album entitled “More” won 2 Hawaii Music Awards for Pop Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year along with 5 Na Hoku Hanohano Award nominations. Locally, Maila has performed with Na Hoku Hanohano Award winners and Grammy nominees Keali’i Reichel and Ho’okena. Maila recorded two songs on Ho’okena’s Grammy nominated albums including “The Prayer” and “Nani Mau Loa.” She’s also performed new country songs such as Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland.
